IRS EXTENDED FILING DEADLINE AND FEDERAL TAX PAYMENTS TO JULY 15
The IRS has announced an automatic extension of the April 15th filing date to July 15th, and tax payments can also be deferred to July 15th.

IRS UNVEILS NEW PEOPLE FIRST INITIATIVE
To help people facing the challenges of COVID-19 issues, the Internal Revenue Service announced a sweeping series of steps to assist taxpayers by providing relief on a variety of issues ranging from easing payment guidelines to postponing compliance actions.

FAMILIES FIRST CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE ACT *UPDATED 3/26/20*   
The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) published guidance to help employers comply with these new requirements that go into effect on April 1, 2020. The DOL indicated that this guidance is the first round of compliance assistance and that more information will be released in the near future.

The EDD provides information for employers, employees and self employed regarding reduced hours, business closures and layoffs, 60-tax extension request for state payroll tax deposits and reports.
