Human Resource Management

Assistance with Hiring & Termination Questions:

The goal of any recruitment system is to attract and hire qualified candidates. Whether your organization is large enough to fill job vacancies through internal promotions and transfers, or you utilize external recruitment sources for some or all positions, the results are often unsatisfactory and the process not cost effective.

In addition, the recruitment & hiring process is filled with legislative traps for the uninformed. Privacy, discrimination and civil rights can be violated by asking inappropriate questions or inadvertent interviewer biases.

At the other end of the spectrum, terminations are equally sensitive to a variety of employee rights or other violations.

Here are a few questions to ask yourself to determine whether or not you need assistance in this area:

  • Do you know what questions you can/cannot ask in an interview?
  • Do you know what questions you can/cannot ask when checking references?
  • Do you know if/how the following apply to your organization?
    • Equal Employment Opportunity Legislation
      Americans with Disabilities Act
      Age Discrimination in Employment Act
      Immigration Reform & Control Act
  • Do you know applicable state laws re. severance packages?

If you answered “no” to any of the above question, you will benefit from a consultation with us regarding these issues. To get more information or schedule a free initial consultation, just email us: HR@dpvb.com.
